Tha Talla Bhreacais a’ comharrachadh ceud bliadhna ann an 2025. Tha sinn a’ cur air dòigh prògram ùr fad dà bhliadhna, le bùthan-obrach, tachartasan agus pròiseact beul-aithris. Thig an obair gu crìoch le taisbeanadh maireannach san talla. Tha sinn a’ comharrachadh an dualchas againn: na daoine, an cànan, an ceòl, na h-ainmean-àite agus sgeulachdan steidhichte ann am Breacais agus anns an talla againn, a tha aig cridhe ar coimhearsnachd.
Talla Bhreacais (Breakish Hall) celebrates its centenary in 2025. We are marking this with a new two year-long programme of workshops, events and an oral reminiscence project culminating in a permanent exhibition in the hall. We are celebrating the people, the language, the music, the Gaelic place names and stories centred around Breakish and our local hall which is at the heart of our community.
Tachartasan/Events
A series of workshops held over the course of the next two years will include Gaelic song, instrumental and dance workshops, reminiscence events and a community mapping workshop. Please keep an eye on our Tachartasan/Events page and our Facebook page for the latest event details.
Beul-aithris/Oral History
The oral reminiscence project will become the basis of an archive of photographs, local memories and stories of the hall and wider community and the permanent exhibition. The stories gathered will become part of the archive. Please get in touch if you would like to contribute any photographs or stories.
Taisbeanadh/Exhibition
The exhibition will be a culmination of the material gathered from the oral reminiscence project. A permanent exhibition in the hall will be a big draw for people who live in Breakish, for people with family ancestry in the area, and people from other parts of Skye.
